Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation
Sports horse injuries are common and a coordinated response to treatment and rehabilitation is a complex and important team effort between vet, trainer, rider, physiotherapist, farrier and nutritionist.
The field of equine sports medicine and rehabilitation is a growing field of practice, and there is a need for cohesion in rehabilitation plans to ensure the best outcome for the horse.
Our aim is for these modalities such as shockwave therapy, stem cell therapy, PRP, iRAP, mesotherapy and many others, to facilitate a return to work and/or improve performance levels.
To be effective, it is essential that there is an accurate veterinary diagnosis of the horse's pathology so that an appropriate treatment plan together with regular assessment during therapy, can be formulated.
